Welcome to the North Fylde Branch of the BCSS

PLEASE NOTE – North Fylde Branch are not currently meeting.

We usually meet on the first Wednesday of the month, at the Thornton Methodist Church Hall, Thornton, between Fleetwood and Blackpool. See our contact us page for more details of how to find us, including directions from the M6.

We have a varied programme with a number of speakers together with our popular Branch Table Show which is judged by our members and is always an enjoyable evening.

We also visit a number of events to display our plants and our members travel to BCSS Manchester Branch for some of the events organised there. See our meetings page for full details.

We are the only active BCSS Branch in Lancashire and, if you can reach our venue, you will always find a very warm welcome at any of our meetings. Just turn up or contact our secretary for more information. You do not need to be a BCSS member to attend meetings.

BCSS North Fylde Branch
The branch was inaugurated in 1971 by Mrs Joan Taylor of St. Anne’s branch. At the time many new young branches were being formed. At North Fylde we continued to fund raise at local shows and events, this gave us a firm footing to continue.

Because several branches have had to close over the years our membership numbers have grown. Alas so has the distance to travel; the branch now covers from Leyland to North Cumbria. We currently have between 25 and 30 BCSS members allocated to our branch and we usually see 7 or 8 members at each meeting.
